This ministry consists of 2 separate programs.
• Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
• Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion for Sick and Shut-ins.
The first ministry assists the clergy in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at the celebration of the Mass.
The second ministry goes to the homes of shut-ins to distribute Holy Communion.
Members of our parish who are interested in joining this ministry must submit their name to our Eucharistic Minister coordinator, Sandra Hajal. After review and approval by the pastor, the candidates must attend a workshop which is conducted by a representative from the Diocese of Orlando office. These workshops are held in the twice each year at parishes throughout the diocese.
After completion of the workshop, each candidate will be trained in the procedures and customs followed at Christ the King.
